Introduction |
This panel controls the display of blinking text, what Crescat does when a terminal session ends, and what host name Crescat should offer in new login panels.
Blinking Text. One of the standard styles for text on an ANSI terminal (along with bold and underline) is “blinking.” Crescat normally displays blinking text by flashing it on and off. This has the disadvantages that it is annoying, difficult to capture in screen shots, and consumes CPU time. You can choose an alternate display, in which blinking text does not blink, but is surrounded by radial tick marks, which avoids the disadvantages at the possible expense of readability and reduced conspicuousness. Close Window at End of Session. A terminal session ends when you log off of the remote host, or communication otherwise ends. Even after the session has ended, the session window still contains a record of the work you did in the session, and Crescat normally keeps the window open so you can examine, save, or copy its contents. You have the option of closing the session window as soon as the session ends. Default Host for New Sessions. When you open a new terminal window, Crescat fills the host address field of the login sheet with the address of the last host you logged in to. If you have one host you almost always want to use, regardless of occasional others, select the “Host:” option, and type its address in the adjoining field. |
