Menu Reference

When the corresponding options are set, Crescat will detect URLs and email addresses in the terminal window, and apply a distinctive background highlight to them:

Clicking on a highlighted URL will open it in the application you have chosen to handle that kind of URL. Typically, that means that clicking on an http: URL will open that page in Safari or Internet Explorer.

Clicking on a highlighted email address has the same effect as though you had clicked on a highlighted mailto: URL. In other words, your chosen email client will start a blank message with that address.

Also, control-clicking on a highlighted email address will cause Crecat to look just before the address for words, which it will assume are a proper name; the menu that pops up will offer to add that name and email address to your Mac OS X address book. The “detector” for proper names is really fairly stupid, so not all names offered will be useful; but addresses displayed in email clients like pine usually adapt well to this scheme.

Setting Detection Options

To turn URL and email detection on and off, and to adjust the color of the background highlights, select “Preferences” from the Crescat application menu, and choose the Detection panel.
